В школе есть много учеников, а у ученика есть обратная.

По мере того, как вы выбрали для вас много отношений, которые нужно заказать. но я считаю, что вам будет проще просто установить отношения по-другому:

student.school = school;

У меня была аналогичная проблема. Я где-то читал, что основная реализация основных данных для многих отношений не работает правильно все время. Это связано с тем, что отношения принимают только nsset и сгенерированные сеттеры, которые неправильно преобразуют входящие аргументы в nsset. Чтобы исправить это, попробуйте переопределить метод addStudentsObject: примерно так:

static NSString *const kItemsKey = @"students";

- (void)addStudentsObject:(Student *)value {
   NSMutableSet* tempSet = [NSMutableSet setWithSet:self.students];
   NSSet* newObject = [NSSet setWithObject:value];
   [self willChangeValueForKey:kItemsKey withSetMutation:NSKeyValueUnionSetMutation usingObjects:newObject];
   [tempSet addObject:value];
   self.students = tempSet;
   [self didChangeValueForKey:kItemsKey withSetMutation:NSKeyValueUnionSetMutation usingObjects:newObject];
