Как сделать расстояние между левым краем панели инструментов и знаком поиска таким же, как между правым краем панели инструментов и значком "Отмена"?

Я пытаюсь добавить SearchView в конструкцию материалов Toolbar/ActionBar, чтобы SearchView был расширен по умолчанию и занимает все пространство Toolbar по ширине. Пока что у меня есть Toolbar.

Проблема с этим:

Я хочу, чтобы значок поиска находился на том же расстоянии от левого края экрана, что и значок X, с правого края экрана. Как я могу это сделать?
Значок X появляется только тогда, когда я начинаю вводить поисковый запрос, а затем он исчезает, если я отменяю запрос, нажимая его. Я хочу, чтобы он был там, как только появится Toolbar (как только появится Activity), и оставайтесь даже там, где нет поискового запроса (введенного пользователем), и текст подсказки поиска отображается, Как я могу это сделать?

Я попытался добавить android:contentInsetStart, android:contentInsetLeft, app:contentInsetStart и app:contentInsetLeft в XML Toolbar, что не помогло.
