Расчет рабочих дней

Мне нужен метод добавления "рабочих дней" в PHP. Например, пятница 12/5 + 3 рабочих дня = среда 12/10.

Как минимум мне нужен код для понимания выходных, но в идеале он должен учитывать и федеральные праздники США. Я уверен, что при необходимости придумаю решение грубой силой, но я надеюсь, что там будет более элегантный подход. Кто-нибудь?

Здесь функция из комментариев пользователя на странице функции date() в руководстве по PHP. Это улучшение более ранней функции в комментариях, которая добавляет поддержку високосных лет.

Введите даты начала и окончания вместе с массивом любых праздничных дней, которые могут находиться между ними, и возвращает рабочие дни как целое число:

Есть несколько аргументов для функции date(), которая должна помочь. Если вы проверите дату ( "w" ), он даст вам номер для дня недели, от 0 до воскресенья до 6 в субботу. Так.. может что-то вроде..
