Throwing ResourceAccessException vs HttpClientErrorException для клиента RestTemplate в Spring

Почему исключение org.springframework.web.client.ResourceAccessException выбрано, но не org.springframework.web.client.HttpClientErrorException, что происходит для обработки запроса GET при возникновении WebApplicationException?

В исключении ResourceAccessException отсутствуют методы, которые позволяют мне читать статус HTTP, например getRawStatusCode (), getResponseHeaders() и т.д.

Потому что он обертывает IOException, не глядя на фактический код ответа.

Основная причина, по-видимому, связана с тем, что BufferingClientHttpResponseWrapper пытается прочитать тело, не проверяя, есть ли первый.

Как сказал Yasammez в комментариях, это известная, исправленная ошибка, в результате которой вы получаете ResourceAccessException вместо подкласса RestClientException такого как HttpClientErrorException и исправлены в Spring 3.0.7.

Лучшее, что я мог сделать, это поймать их обоих и попросить только сообщение, а не код состояния:

}

Вы также можете иметь 2 разных оператора catch и один catch с более подробным журналом, если он туда попадет.
